2009 Rally to Rescue Event!!

Photobucket

A 2009 Rally to Rescue event, hosted by the Shelbyville-Bedford County Humane Association and the Sharpei Rescue of Tennessee, will take place at this year's Celebration Pet Day. Why is a Rally to Rescue so important in our community?

• The Rally to Rescue® program is a partnership with Purina® Pro Plan® brand pet food and pet rescue organizations across the country to help give rescued pets the nutrition and care they need and the loving homes they deserve.

• Purina® Pro Plan®’s Rally to Rescue® program is committed to Doing More™ to support smaller pet rescue organizations that often may have been overlooked by donors or adopters due to limited fundraising and marketing efforts.

• Since the inception of Rally to Rescue® in 2005, more than 227,000 pets have found loving, forever homes. But, there is certainly more work to do. Rally to Rescue® encourages everyone to help our Ambassadors across the country to reach our goal of 300,000 adoptions, since the beginning of the program, by the end of 2009.

o In order to reach this 300,000 adoption goal, Rally to Rescue® will be hitting the road traveling to eight markets across the country through its Rally Across America 2009 program. Rally to Rescue® Ambassadors will host adoption events at area retailers for the chance for you to bring home a furry companion. To find an event closest to you, visit www.rallytorescue.org.

o Every little bit helps when it comes to pet rescue, whether it’s a donation of pet care items, a few hours volunteering at a shelter or fundraising event, or adopting a homeless dog or cat into your life.

o Help us raise money for rescue organizations and achieve our goals by purchasing a Rally to Rescue® t-shirt. Visit www.rallytorescue.org to purchase a shirt in support of pet rescue.

• Individual pet organizations may apply to become Rally to Rescue® Ambassadors by visiting www.rallytorescue.org. Organizations that meet program requirements and are selected by Purina® Pro Plan® receive assistance such as marketing and event planning guides.
